The USC Institute for Creative Technologies (ICT) offers internship opportunities for students interested in careers in simulation, interactive media, and virtual reality fields. These internships are available for both undergraduate and graduate students and are conducted in collaboration with the Army Research Lab West (ARL West) and the National Science Foundation.
There are two main internship programs available:
- ICT’s REU Summer Intern Program (Undergraduate Students): This program is sponsored by the National Science Foundation and is a 10-week summer research program for undergraduates interested in interactive virtual experiences.
- ICT/ARL Summer Intern Program (Graduate and Undergraduate Students): This program is a collaboration between ICT and ARL West and offers interdisciplinary summer research opportunities for both graduate and undergraduate students.
Requirements for the ICT and ARL West Summer Research Program include:
- Enrollment as an undergraduate or graduate student for the summer 2024 or fall 2024 semester at an accredited college or university in the U.S. or abroad.
- Ability to commit to a 12-week full-time summer program, with start and end dates aligning with the applicant’s school session calendar.
- Note: J-1 Visa sponsorship is not available for undergraduate students.
- Students are expected to work full-time (40 hours per week) from Monday through Friday during the internship period.
